Clean Up Australia Day 2014

Alhumdulilah the local brothers behind the Darul Ulum Sydney project were out and about in Lakemba on Sunday the 2nd of March, 2014. Sleeves were rolled up as rubbish bags were filled, as we helped do our bit to keep Lakemba tidy.

Clean Up Australia Day takes place each year on the first Sunday in March and is a simple way Australians take action to clean up, fix up and conserve our prized Australian environment.

In 2014 an estimated 572,400 volunteers removed 15,700 tonnes of rubbish at 7,140 sites right across the country.

Darul Ulum Fundraising Dinner

On December 15th, 2013 Daul Ulum Sydney warmly invited the local community to a fundraising dinner in order to raise the outstanding money for three adjacent houses (64, 66, 68 Quigg St, Lakemba). The intention of the Darul Ulum project is to fulfill the many needs of the present and future generation of muslims within Sydney and the wider Australian Community.

Following Maghrib prayer, the program involved a naat and a general introduction to the three properties. Our esteemed local mashaykh, Shaykh Tarek, Shaykh Mohammed Khamis and Shaykh Fadi then encouraged the crowd to give for the sake of Allah. Dinner was served, following an auction that led to alhumdulilah over $270,000 collected.

Smile!
